Woodhill Hall Wedding Photography

The last 15 months or so have been tough on everyone. Some a lot more than others. The wedding industry, an industry that I've worked in for the last 20 years has been particularly hit hard and largely ignored by the Government. I've seen so many wonderful businesses, some being some of the most successful wedding business, go out of business. As a business owner I've had to sit tight. Last year I went from 20+ weddings in the diary down to 3. So naturally you can appreciate I am particularly excited and relieved to be getting back behind the camera this month. My last wedding was in September. My next, on bank holiday Monday will be up in Northumberland. And what better place to get back to it than Woodhill Hall in Otterburn. Woodhill Hall wedding photography has been part of my portfolio since I first shot there in 2012 so I want to share with you today some of my favourite shots from this stunning little venue with a massive heart.

I was familiar with Otterburn prior to shooting at Woodhill Hall as my mum was vicar in Otterburn and Elsdon for 10 years and it's a community close to my heart. Not long after mum moved parish I was booked to shoot a wedding at Woodhill Hall. Overlooking fields, hills and Rede Valley, this amazing little hall is like the Tardis. When you drive down the long driveway to the Hall you really don't get a sense of just how much is on the grounds.

And trust me, over the years I've seen so much change here. Boring? Never! Corinne and the team are constantly on the ball looking to provide couples with the dream day and keep them excited in the lead up to the big day. The interiors are bold yet sympathetic to the it's surroundings. The bar gorgeous and makes you feel like you're going on holiday....which you will feel like when you step out into the Mediterranean Court Yard. Even on the dullest days this place glows with it's pure white walls and tiles.

I've seen mock ruins built, shepherd's huts, cabins and teepees added, walls knocked down and eye-catching decorations included. We've done weddings in the Orangery to weddings out on the Terrace. We've had rain, hail, thunder, snow, gales and sunshine. And just when I thought it couldn't get any better, Corinne has only gone and built The Olive House; a gorgeous little chapel overlooking the Rede Valley set in stunning white. And an interior that demonstrates "less is more" in bundles.

So here's to my industry getting back on it's feet. Here's to the couple's who are now dreaming of finally having their magical day. Here's to Sam and Becca who's wedding I am shooting in a couple of weeks time!
