Pontlands Park Wedding Photography: Emma and Nick

2019 has seen me vastly increase my presence in Essex, London and the South East. It has very much reminded me of my early days as a wedding photographer when pretty much every wedding I shot was at a new venue to me. I feeI have come full circle as each venue I've shot at this year in Essex has been new to me. So here is Pontlands Park Wedding Photography now in my collection.

Emma and Nick were one of the first couples to contact me since I became an Essex Wedding Photographer. In the build up to the big day we discussed photos and like many of my couples they told me they were comfortable having photos taken of them. Like everyone else, my job was more about putting them at ease than turning the wedding photography into a big event.

On the day of the wedding on the edge of Chelmsford, the sun was filling the sky. It was warm and definitely short sleeves weather. Upstairs Emma was getting her hair done. Meanwhile on the TV the first match of the Rugby World Cup was on. Nobody was really paying attention to it.

Downstairs in the Lilli Room everything was set up for the ceremony. This is a small room overlooking the lawns and lake in the grounds. At the front stood Nick, grinning from ear to ear. No sign of nerves. There were only 20 or so guests so this was going to be a nice intimate day.

The sun was streaming through the windows as Emma entered the room. The wonderful thing about wedding photography on days like this is the close proximity of everyone. You miss nothing! All emotions were captured.

After the ceremony everyone congregated in the gardens for celebratory drinks whilst we ran through a few family shots. In the conservatory everything was set up and ready for the wedding breakfast with an autumnal feel.

With guests in their seats they took to their feet to welcome in the newlyweds. The speeches took place after the meal and were short, sweet and informal. I have to say, the food was outstanding!

With the sun dropping we headed outside to get some shots in the golden dusk light before heading back inside for first dance. As is often the way after a short period of time our bride and groom were furiously ushering people onto the dance floor to join them....only today everyone was a little shy and opted to watch.

For my first Pontlands Park Wedding I couldn't have wised for a better day. It all went to plan and I am so pleased with how the images turned out. Not a bad days work!
